Avidia Bank Announces Partnership with Adrian Phillips, New England Safety

Community bank continuing the “Be a Champion for a Child” winning tradition of supporting local youth

HUDSON, MA – Avidia Bank recently announced its partnership with Adrian Phillips, New England Safety, for the Bank’s “Be a Champion for a Child” initiative to benefit Boys & Girls Club of MetroWest.

Avidia and Boys & Girls Club of MetroWest, which provides education and athletic programs to help some 3,200 at-risk children and teens, have enjoyed a long and rewarding partnership for more than two decades.

Avidia’s “Be a Champion for a Child” was developed to further support the organization through a venture with 98.5 The Sports Hub radio station, which brings out Boston professional sports stars dedicated to giving back to the community. This year, Avidia is proud to team up with New England safety Adrian Phillips, one of the most valuable defenders in professional football.

“I’m really proud to be a part of the ‘Be a Champion for a Child Program,’” said Phillips. “As a father and the husband of a pediatrician, I understand how important it is for children to get the support they need to lead healthy lives and reach their fullest potential.”

As part of the program, Avidia Bank will donate $1,000 to Boys & Girls Club of MetroWest for every defensive interception and defensive recovery all season long, up to $30,000.

In addition, Avidia will do a “Match of the Game” for every home game during the regular season, where they will send a child and mentor from Boys & Girls Club of MetroWest to watch Adrian Phillips and his team play.

“The past few years have been very challenging for our youth. As part of our commitment to our local communities, Avidia is proud to partner with our long-time community partner, Boys & Girls Club of MetroWest, to provide funding and opportunities to engage and support kids and teens,” said Mark O’Connell, President and CEO of Avidia Bank. “It’s a win for us all!”

Recently, the bank held a media day to kick off this initiative with the help of 98.5 The Sports Hub.  Follow the Bank on social media to see who is picked for the Match of the Game and view more information on the Bank’s website.
